As I was driving home for the weekend, it occurred to me that I never did buy those air fresheners that the house so desperately needed. When I got into town, I went to my house instead of her apartment and ripped the sheets off the bed to wash them. That should help some of the smell. While I was waiting for the sheets to wash and dry, I grabbed the duster and went over some of the cobweb’s that I had missed before and dumped a cap full of bleach down all the drains to make the house smell cleaner before I headed to the bar to walk her restock everything at the end of her shift and walk her out. I know that Brenda is in the slammer now, but it still makes me feel better to be there at the end of the night in case there are any drunks hanging around the parking lot. Reaching for my keys, I heard the buzzer on the dryer. I quickly grabbed the sheets out and ran them upstairs to the bedroom before dashing off to the bar.
